Rhodes have entered into the value-added tomato category with a range of mouthwatering variants under the COUNTRY KITCHEN brand.

With this category growing at 14.4% (by Synovate MAT April 2008) and additional capacity at the recently acquired Limpopo factory, we have very positive expectations for this range.

Our new Country Kitchen Tomato range is available in:

• Tomato, Onion & Garlic

• Tomato, Basil & Origanum

• Tomato & Chilli

The range also features an EZO lid, adding to your cooking pleasure and in line with our quality maxim the range is made from fresh combinations of ripe plum tomatoes and quality ingredients.

The Rhodes Ayrshire Stud again received several awards in 2008.

At the Bloemfontein Show held in May, RFG walked away with the prizes for the Best Young Cow (RFF 6022), Best Mature Cow (RFF 571), Champion Udder (RFF 332) and Grand Champion (RFF 332) (see photo).

At the Mega Week in September, RFG won the prizes for the Best Young Cow (RFF 6022) (see photo), Best Matured Cow (RFF 571), Champion Udder and Grand Champion.

In October 2008, the Ayrshire Cattle Breeders' Society of South Africa recognized RFG as follows:

• 9 RFG cows were in the top 10 producing cows for 2008. The number 1 cow producing 13077kg milk.

• Highest average stud in South Africa - 8973kg milk, 404 animals milked 3 times.

The current range of your good ol’ everyday favourites are made with the finest ingredients matched with traditional herbs and spices baked together in a short crust pastry base and puff pastry top. Utterly delicious… it’s all about the ingredients!

A 120ml cup has been launched in a clear plastic cup with an ‘easy peel’ lid for cooking convenience. The added advantage of the paste in plastic is the purpose that it serves when refrigerating – no more concerns of refrigerating a tin with left over paste when your convenient cup can be stored straight in the fridge for further use.
