Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment

The Rhodes Food Group shares and subscribes to the philosophies and principles of the National Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment strategy.

Its activities in this regard will be those that add value, and contribute to the transformation of the business and greater society. The Group believes that empowerment, development and economic growth are complementary processes.

The Group seeks to align its business strategy and objectives with its BBBEE strategy and initiatives. It will focus on core competencies and strengths in its transformation endeavours.

Specific objectives and targets will be set and ongoing performance measurements carried out. The focus will be on the following areas:

• Shareholders - seeking value added business partnerships ensuring long term stability and continued growth of the Group
• Employees - focus on employment equity based recruitment and placement practices, skills training and employee development
• Business Partners - developing meaningful and enduring business partnerships that will provide value creating opportunities;
• The Community – contributing to the development of the community, and to the upliftment of vulnerable members of our society.
